Tournament Rules

AGE DIVISIONS, RULES AND SKILL PLAYER WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS

Keep in mind we do our very best to ensure fair match-ups in all age divisions. We set the brackets based off of age, skill & size in that order. We try to have the more competitive teams playing one another and the less competitive teams playing one another.

IN ALL AGE DIVISIONS NATIONAL FEDERATION HIGH SCHOOL RULES APPLY W/ THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW MINOR THINGS. Each game is made up of four – ten minute quarters. Two timeouts per half per team. We use a modiefied clock except the last two minutes of each half (runs regulation then). Clock does stop on all scores and timeouts. We use the modified clock so we can fit in all the games. This let’s you play more games and teams (if your winning). With the clock this way each game runs between 65 – 80 minutes. Each team is allowed two (2) time outs per half, the duration of which will be one (1) minute each. During a charged time out, only 1 coach  on the field.

Extra Points:  Following a touchdown the extra points can be made by running or passing. A successful running conversion will receive 1 point; a successful pass will receive 2 points.

Overtime Games:  Format for overtime will be same as High School.

Ball Regulation:  Youth K2 or Junior will be the official size game ball. Each team will be responsible for providing their game ball.

NO GOAL POST ON FIELD THEREFORE NO FIELD GOALS OR EXTRA POINT KICKS!

4th GRADE: Skill player max weight is 100lbs. – unlimited line weight. No kicking of any kind. Punts are walked off 25 yards by officials. Ball starts play at the 30 yard line to begin each half and after scores.

Alignment:  Offense – 7 on Line of Scrimmage. Defense – 5 linemen or 4-lineman front is allowed.  Outside defensive man on the line can be no wider than outside man-outside shoulder, linebackers no closer than 2 yards from LOS, DBs minimum 4 yards from LOS. Interior lineman must be in down position. Exception – Any defense is allowed when the offense is inside your own 10-yard line as long as only the people on the defensive line can rush.

Defensive Blitzing:  Blitzing by linebackers and defensive backs is not allowed.

However, any defensive player may cross the line of scrimmage after the offensive player with the ball is outside the offensive tackles.

Fumbles/Interceptions:  Live ball. Advance as allowed.

Coaches on Field:  Each team is allowed a coach on the field for both offense and defense. Coaches must stay 5 yards behind the deepest player. No verbal directions or communications can be made from when the QB starts his cadence until end of the play.

5th GRADE: Skill player max weight is 115lbs. – unlimited line weight. NO COACH ALLOWED ON FIELD. This age does have kick-offs but no punts. Punts will be walked off 30 yards by officials. On extra points high school rules apply. Outside of what rules are mentioned, this age is high school rules.
